Things I loved in September.

Hello all! I decided for my first real post, I would compile a list of all the things I loved and hated throughout the month of September. It is now officially the best season of the year, well it has been for about nine days, but I don’t even think september reeeeally counts as fall. Why? Well for starters it has been SO HOT for about 90% of the month, and all the trees were green up until the very end. Plus, it is only technically fall the last nine days of it anyways. Either way, I am BEYOND pumped for the pretty leaves, crisp air, warm drinks, boots, pumpkins, etc. Basically all the things a “basic” girl could ever want. And I’ll admit, as much as I don’t want to be considered “basic,” let’s just face the facts; I’m probably a 7 on a 1-10 scale of basic-ness. Sorry ’bout it. I’ll stop rambling on and on about my basic tendencies, so here’s my list of must-haves for September.

1. It Cosmetics “Your Skin But Better” CC cream.

cc cream

My oh my do I love this product. It’s a medium-full coverage CC cream, which I was surprised about because most CC (and BB) creams I have tried out before were a very light coverage, and let me tell you- I NEED my full coverage. I just apply this with my fingers, which is a new tactic for me considering I have only used foundation brushes over the past few years. It feels light on my skin, and its not too cakey. Although, it is considered a medium-full coverage CC cream, I still need to use my concealer, Boi-ing by benefit, to cover up those pesky blemishes. Then I dust on my favorite powder, Hello! Flawless, also by Benefit and call it a day.

2. Jack Rogers “Navajo Flat” sandals.

I only recently bought my first pair of Jack Rogers. And to be completely honest, for the longest time I did not see the appeal to them whatsoever. But, since I got to this campus I see girls wearing them almost everywhere and they started growing on me. So finally, after debating with myself if I really liked them or if I was just getting them because probably half the girls on this campus have a pair, I finally caved and bought a pair. Not gonna lie, they were a bit painful to break in. The arches in my feet would often be blistered. But now they are so comfortable and I wear them all the time. Plus, they’re so versatile. You can wear them a variety of ways, such as pairing them with a dressier outfit, or you could wear them with jeans and a tee, or even leggings (guilty of this). I’m SO glad I ended up getting these sandals, I think they’re definitely worth the investment.

3. OPI “Red My Fortune Cookie.”

The Perfect cherry red nail polish. That is all.

4. The Office.

I never really watched The Office when it was on TV, unless it was randomly on USA or TBS or something like that, but I never really followed along with it. But, all thanks to Netflix, I am now in love. It’s hilarious! In all honesty I don’t have that much time to sit down and watch hours of Netflix on end like I used to. But every so often if I am eating lunch in my dorm, I’ll squeeze in an episode or two.

 5. Country Music.

I am honestly so surprised that I included this in my favorites, and I’m sure my closest friends would be as well. Because, I absolutely HATED country music for the longest time. I don’t know why, but I’ve been listening to it a lot recently. Maybe it’s something in the water here. But mark my words I will never ever ever listen to wagon wheel by Darius Rucker. I will forever dislike that song, and I know for a fact I will never change my mind on that one. But that’s neither here nor there. Here’s a list of some of my fave country songs right now:

  • Bartender – Lady Antebellum
  • Burnin’ it Down – Jason Aldean
  • Somewhere In My Car – Keith Urban
  • Dust – Eli Young Band
  • American Kids – Kenny Chesney
  • Somethin’ Bad – Miranda Lambert & Carrie Underwood

6. The Return of Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

I’m sorry they’re just so good!

Welcome Aboard

Hello! First things first (I’m the realest) I’d like to introduce myself to you. My name is Liz and I am currently in the beginnings of my college career, only 5 weeks into my freshman year. Now, with this stressful time of essentially floating around pretending like I know what I’m doing, you’d think I would be spending my time focused on school work, making friends, figuring out which dining halls don’t serve poison, and exploring the campus. False. While I do intend to do these things, I thought I’d start a blog to document this journey. You may wonder, “Why start a blog? Why not just call your mom and your best friend from home and talk to them?” To be honest, I have no idea why I started this. Actually I do. Today I was looking at my Instagram newsfeed, and noticed someone liked a picture, which happened to be from someone’s blog. That’s when the the wheels started turning in my head. I mean this blogging be too hard… right? I’ve always had a passion for all things beauty and style, and I love to read lifestyle posts, and look at yummy recipes that there’s no way in hell I’m ever going to make. So voila! I made this blog, with a little help from my mom of course(hi mom!). I hope to be posting things related to beauty, fashion, and lifestyle, but I’m sure I’ll add in a few of my daily embarrassing moments as I stumble around this campus. Catch ya later!
